Modern Cupping
Modern cupping therapy uses a variety of glass and silicon suction cups to provide deep tissue work. Although cupping is a ‘deep tissue’ technique, it does not have the discomfort associated with other deep tissue techniques.
This treatment uses a combination of stationary and sliding cups. These cups stretch and separate fascia, muscle and soft tissue at both a superficial and deeper level. The result of this, is release of fascial adhesions and trigger points that cause pain and discomfort. By releasing these adhesions cupping assists in increasing joint range of motion.
A further benefit of cupping is to break up and expel congestion and waste products through suction. Cups pull stagnant blood and intracellular fluid to the surface, where it can be removed and replaced with oxygen rich blood.
Cupping therapy is a fantastic option for releasing stubborn areas of tension or for deep work.
